A lot of characters in kids' books have it pretty good, from calling the start of the wild rumpus to ordering room service from their hotel suite. If you could be any character from children's literature, who would you be?

I would be Peter Pan (or Wendy) because who wouldn't love to be a kid forever, fight pirates (though some aspects of the book are kind of disturbing), and basically be king of a world where anything could happen. Plus, you get to fly and chill with Fairies.

Otherwise, I vote Bella (but that's YA fiction) because, lets face it, what girl wouldn't want an Edward?

"Hallelujah", nuff said.

That song is epic okay, there so many poetic devices and the movement of the song with the melody is just...words can't describe it fully. It's like watching the trees ripple while clouds glide by overhead, there's a balance; but the lyrics add this depth of meaning. A person could write a 100-page essay analyzing what the writer is trying to say and never once run out of ideas.

Huh, this question reminds me of Dean. He also is a possible answer ;D, though I woud spend half my time in travel to get wherever he is.

If I had one day to live, I'm not sure what I'd do. Definitely, pray; but I think I would just get everyone I know and love together and throw a party or something and try to have as much fun as possible before the day was over.

I guess it depends on who is taking the picture. I'm all for taking pictures with my mates, we're always clicking pics with our cells and cameras, but when it cames to the fam I'd rather bury myself in a six foot hole beneath a rock. Which is probably because I'm not very photogenic and this gives the parentals plenty of pictures to chuckle over, and all the pictures they take tend to be the laughing-at kind. Whereas the pictures me and my pals tend to take are less so.

I love to take group photos because I don't like being the central figure in a picture, I love trying to squeeze more than two people into those little instant picture booths and what not.

Like they are right now, lots of snow (but not as bad as some other states!)
I think we have about a foot of snow on the ground that hasn't been plowed. I can tell you that my chickens hate it, but I like it. Looks like we'll have the first white christmas in a while.

So I got my copy of Supernatural: the Official Magazine yesterday. I read it cover to cover and of course loved the pictures. My only real criticism is that they need to stop trying to photoshopping our boys, they are beautiful the way they are and they just make them look funny (I'll try to remember to post a picture of what I'm talking about late). Like this picture they have of Sam on coffee mugs and stuff, he looks Asian, and he's definitely not. I'm not sure what they did, but it was bad.

Overall the magazine didn't tell me much that I didn't already know, but if I weren't a crazy fangirl I'm sure alot of it would have been news to me.

Additionally, it had an article on the Mettalicar--and they called it this!!--which was great just because; and a lot of "Behind the Scenes" type interviews. I like the Dear-Dean-esque responses in the back, it just proves that the Dear Dean people/person has his voice down pat (I'd have sworn the same person wrote them).

Overall my favorite part was actually the interview with Cassidy (plays Ruby, who I can't stand) because it actually gave me better insight into the character, so now I don't hate her as much--though I still can't wait for Sam to shoot her, after he gets help first, of course (she's such a Mary-Sue ugh!) /rant.

It also talks about the Christmas episode I'm waiting patiently (right...) for, and how there will be evil!Santa and people getting killed in sacks and chimneys. Sounds good to me Kripke.

If I didn't already have a copy I'd totally buy it ;D, and I can't wait for the next issue.

Dear Dad,

It's been a while, so long that I can't figure out what to say. To say I miss you is like saying the Grand Canyon is a crack in the ground; and really that's pretty apt because there's definitely a chasm within me--not to be emo.

It's kind of like that song you wrote for me when you were in prison, only now you're free in every sense. My daddy is gone but "I know that he loves me/ I know this is true." Did you know Brenda finally gave me a copy, the one scribbled on a matchbook. All these years and that's the only sisterly act she's ever performed.

Things are good on this side, but I figure you know that. I get emo about life every once in a while but I keep my head on straight. I remember to have fun and not to let people get me down.

Mom talks about you like you were a saint, but that's not how I remember you. You were a good man, but I remember the other you too; or at least what I saw of him. You weren't perfect and that's fine, you didn't have to be for me to love you. Letting me eat King size chocolate bars and teaching me to play chess was enough. Really just living up to the title of father was more than enough.

You weren't there all the time when I was little, and that's no ones fault; but you're with me all the time now. That's what I need to remember.

How do you choose which books to read?

I search forever in the library or bookstore for a book with a good summary, but even then some books are lamer than the summary suggests or way better. Usually I end up getting lucky (like when I decided to buy the Golden Compass a couple years ago) and managing to find a great book. Something else that helps is talking to librarians and bookstore workers because they always have great suggestions about new books because generally they've read them.

Personally I prefer Science Fiction/Fantasy books because I'm a major geek, but I also like Action and Adventure. Overall I think fiction is better than non-fiction, mostly because non-fiction writer's rarely manage to make their subject interesting for everyone. I like humor and would recommend Douglas Adams for that, adventure Gary Pullman, and for a little fantasy Holly Black.

I really love Pagemaster because it's a great movie about the power of fiction!

So I saw the trailer for this new movie and I'm figuring it's just another romanticly upbeat film starring Hilary Swank (who I adored in Million Dollar Baby) and then guess who I see (and then squee over)? If you've seen the trailer and are a SPN fan then you know it was Jeffrey Morgan (who I will always think of as John in IMTD)and for a moment I couldn't believe it.

It looks like a good film and I'll probably see it just because it's that time of year and I am a closet romantic. I guess I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks.

Other than that not much is going down, Finals are preparing to rear their ugly heads and stress me out to new exciting neurotic levels and I have a fic that refuses to write itself. It's life as always.

Cancer, which is unfortunately uncompatible with Sagitarrius (my Mom) or Aquarius (Dean). I think astrology is an interesting concept, but I generally think that most of it's crap--especially horoscopes--because of all the idiots out there doing it who don't really understand it in the first place. Astroloogy is complicated in the extreme, and even though two people may share a sign that doesn't make them similar because they can have completely different birth charts.

It's possible that the alignment of the stars can have deeply significant meaning for each person because God is amazing and could have created the universe that way; but what you read in the newspapers is a bunch of made-up crap. Like Missouri says, people don't want to hear the truth they want to hear good news (or something to that effect).

P.S. I'm a Dragon according to the Chinese zodiac, but where's my luck?

Probably because I've been avoiding my huge Creative writing prose piece (due very soon) and my SPN fanfic. Go ahead and read them if you'd like and then either comment or try to forget the horror.

Lilacs

Flowers travel on the winds

Of memory, soft sunshine glowing

On petals like fan blades, still in the

Heat, the summer breeze dances

In the bush, leaves sway like a girl

Pink cotton swirling around legs,

Knees wearing crisscrossed Band-Aids,

Soft and sweet as melted strawberry

Ice cream, powerful as the moon

On a warm night.

Blown Away

A whoosh of air slides

I'd say it's definitely laid back in a classical sense. I love blue jeans and t-shirts with witty comments or colorful designs--like every college student in the world--but I think I always add something of myself into it.

Like today I'm rocking a tie-dye shirt with a ying-yang including dolphins in it layered over a long sleeved shirt with M&Ms down the arm, a pair of comfortable levis, tennis shoes, and my silver cross. Simple, classic, but it definitely says alot about me as a person--that's my style in general.
